The Probability of God?

Have you ever thought to yourself, –What are the chances that God exist or doesn’t exist?  What are the chances I could be wrong about his existence?  What is the Probability of God and his (or her) existence?

Well this is your chance to take the Probability of God Test; and calculate the possibility and probability that God does or does not exist.

Now, Imagine two different possible universes, one created by a god, the other where there is no god. Various aspects of the universe we live in may look more like the hypothetical god-created universe, and other aspects may look more like the hypothetical godless universe.

In this test, you will be asked 10 questions in which you assess how more or less likely these aspects would be if God exists compared to if God doesn’t exist. Try not to allow your answers to be influenced by how likely you currently think God’s existence is, just answer as a hypothetical – what would be more likely to be true on the assumption that a god-less and god-full universe existed.

It is also best to avoid choosing only probabilities at either extreme – I think it is doubtful that anyone can be that certain of the likelihood of the answers to every one of these questions.

From your answers, a probability that God exists is calculated. This test can’t tell you what the truth is, but it can help you understand the implications of what you personally believe.

For background information on this test, including Bayesian probability, the actual numbers assigned to each answer and how the probabilities are calculated, see the probability of god test explained.

About M. Rodriguez

When I first received Christ salvation, I made it a priority to read the whole bible and I did. But it was the Bible that made me question my faith. For I found it flawed and lacking. Due to this I launched a personal inquiry/investigation into my faith, and ultimately realized that the Christian God of the Bible was indeed man-made. Now I Blog about those findings and life after Christ.

  1. I got .001. Honestly, I thought it’d be higher. I tried to be as generous as possible wrt the weight of theistic evidence. For example, I rated the fine tuning evidence as slightly favoring theism. But I guess the problem of evil and hiddenness tipped the scales decisively. Thanks for posting.
